The XGSWMP45C slides over the full-size 10-round M&P 45 magazine and seats it around the floorplate in the M&P 45 Compact. That is 10 rounds of .45 Auto in place of 8, and a full grip on a short frame.
The XGRIP closes the gap between the M&P frame and the longer magazine, drawn to the M&P's own grip lines so it looks like part of the pistol. Its shape is based on the anthropometrics of the hand and wrist, so the whole hand has a surface to hold and nothing is left hanging below the frame.
It is cut to seat the magazine at the right depth, and no deeper. Nothing on the pistol is drilled, cut or replaced.
