The XGS220C is a two-piece adapter for the 8-round P220 magazine. The halves close around the plastic basepad and lock together, seating the full-size magazine in a P245 or P220 Compact: 8 rounds of .45 Auto in place of 6.
On its own, the longer SIG magazine leaves a step below the frame. The XGRIP fills it, drawn to the SIG's own grip lines so it looks like part of the pistol. Its shape is based on the anthropometrics of the hand and wrist, giving the little finger a full surface to hold instead of an edge.
It is cut to seat the magazine at the right depth, and no deeper. Nothing on the pistol is drilled, cut or replaced.
